THE SITUATION AND THE PAIN POINTS

Fetal bovine serum is costly, variable, and carries animal-origin risk; cultivated meat and biologics are both seeking alternatives. Most peptones, however, carry too much endotoxin and impurity for cell culture.

OUR APPROACH

STBIO's cell-grade hydrolysates are microfiltered or ultrafiltered to keep endotoxin and impurities within cell-culture limits, supplying amino acids, peptides, and growth factors under serum-free or low-serum conditions for mammalian, insect, and cultivated-meat cell lines.

  • Distributor of Organotechnie C-Cell cell-culture-grade hydrolysates from France: ultrafiltered, low endotoxin, with validation data on CHO, HEK293 and Vero
  • Microfiltered and ultrafiltered grades, low endotoxin
  • Plant and yeast origin, animal-free
  • Serum-reduction effect on Vero cells verified in peer-reviewed research

Frequently asked questions

01Can hydrolysates fully replace serum?

It depends on the cell line. Hydrolysates typically cut serum by half or more; fully serum-free culture usually also needs other growth factors and formulation work. Trial samples and literature are available.
