High Spore Yield Nutrient Series
Nutrient formulations designed for the growth and sporulation of spore-forming bacteria, improving spore yield, sporulation rate and product quality. For Bacillus subtilis, B. amyloliquefaciens, B. velezensis and other biopesticide and biofertilizer strains.

ABOUT THIS SERIES
The active ingredient in a biopesticide or biofertilizer is the spore, not the vegetative cell, and product quality is judged on spore count and sporulation rate. Sporulation requires the culture to reach a certain density and then shift into sporulation under the right nutrient transition. This series is formulated for the growth and sporulation needs of Bacillus, balancing early biomass with late sporulation rate.
SUITABLE FOR
- Biopesticide and biofertilizer strains such as Bacillus subtilis, B. amyloliquefaciens and B. velezensis
- Spore-forming probiotics
- Powder and granule products that require high spore counts
KEY POINTS
- Supports early biomass and later sporulation
- Formulated with the minerals sporulation requires
- Spore count and sporulation rate used as the optimisation targets

Frequently asked questions
01Why is the culture growing well but sporulating poorly?
A common cause is that nutrients stay abundant so the culture never receives the signal to sporulate, or that minerals needed for sporulation are lacking. The formulation has to deliver a nutrient transition at the right time, which is what this series addresses.
