Overview
CryoPro P6 is a plant-derived peptone, used as a nitrogen and growth-factor source in culture media. It is suited to the cultivation of lactic acid bacteria and probiotics. Non-GMO, animal-free. Supplied by STBIO MEDIA with a COA for every batch; samples and specifications are available on request. This is the Halal-certified version.
Cryoprotective nitrogen source, additive or freeze-drying protectant
All three help probiotics and starter cultures survive freezing and freeze-drying. CryoPro cryoprotective nitrogen sources are peptide-based and can serve as a nitrogen source before harvest while also protecting afterwards; CryoAid cryoprotective additives are for frozen storage and frozen concentrates; AcidPro freeze-drying protectants are mixed into the cell concentrate before freeze-drying. Strains respond very differently, so trial two or three side by side and compare survival after drying and stability in storage.

Food grade versus laboratory grade
Most culture media suppliers use laboratory-grade raw materials, which are held to lower standards for heavy metal residues, microbial contamination control, and traceability. That is adequate for pure research but not for applications with stricter raw-material requirements. STBIO manufactures with food-grade raw materials throughout, in a facility certified to ISO 22000 food safety management.
- Food microbiology laboratories working to ISO 17025 or equivalent requirements
- Biotech manufacturers exporting fermentation products and needing full raw-material traceability
- Organisations with ESG or compliance audit requirements across their supply chain
- Companies sourcing both Halal and non-Halal products who need one consistent material grade
