Overview
ISP Broth 2 is a broth (liquid) medium, part of the International Streptomyces Project (ISP) set for actinomycete taxonomy. It is ISP 2 yeast-malt formulation, used for growth, sporulation and taxonomic description of Streptomyces. STBIO manufactures it from food-grade raw materials in an ISO 22000 certified facility, with a COA for every batch.
The ISP range for actinomycetes
The ISP (International Streptomyces Project) range is the standard media set for the taxonomy of Streptomyces and other actinomycetes. Each number provides a different carbon and nitrogen combination for observing mycelial colour, soluble pigment, and sporulation. Taxonomic descriptions normally require several of the numbered media read together.
